New features and fixes for CarPlay navigation on HUD & cluster, Android Auto and fault code diagnostics. Updates install automatically through the Wayglass Installer.
ImprovedAndroid Auto installs and updates again on 12.3″ (1920×720) screens and screens of any other size: the only check now is that CarPlay is coded full screen and has been connected at least once.
Improved“Send log” now includes the result of the last “Create control unit list” in Diagnostics, with the reason it failed.
CarPlay → HUD 0.5.5 and NBT Tools 0.1.4
ImprovedInstalling from a USB stick works on every supported NBT Evo firmware, including O18184I, R19144I, S19322I, T20454I (Toyota Supra), V20153J, W20204I and Y21272I. Before, the USB-stick installation stopped with “is not verified” on these cars.
HUD guidance 0.5.13 (CarPlay → HUD and Android Auto)
ImprovedCars with the China-market BMW navigation: guidance now appears on the HUD (street name as text). Before, nothing was shown on these cars.
ImprovedThe Test button on the Wayglass screen now also shows a turn without a street name: the previous street name should disappear from the HUD and the cluster, and the next turn shows a street again.
Android Auto 0.3.32
ImprovedMulti-finger gestures: pinch to zoom and two-finger map moves (checked on NBTevo_P18362I; if the touchscreen data is not found, one-finger touch works as before).
ImprovedThe driving mode window (Sport / Comfort / Eco Pro) now shows on top of Android Auto, as with CarPlay, and Android Auto comes back after it closes.
ImprovedDuring a session the CarPlay tile on the home screen reads “Android Auto” (NBTevo_P18362I only for now).
ImprovedAndroid Auto installs again when CarPlay is coded full screen but its size differs from the display (for example 1180×480 on a MINI). The installer only warns that Android Auto will not fill the whole screen.
ImprovedIf an install fails because a head unit file was changed by other software, or the hard disk is not available, the window now names the reason instead of a general refusal.
FixedCarPlay → HUD and Android Auto: on the HUD the distance to the next turn now stays centered under the street name, as with the BMW navigation, instead of jumping to the right on top of roundabouts and exit arrows.
HUD & instrument cluster guidance (CarPlay 0.5.4 and Android Auto 0.3.31)
NewNew “Guidance test” button: for 30 seconds the HUD or instrument cluster shows a sample route with turns, a roundabout, lanes and a distance countdown. You can check that guidance works without starting a route on the phone.
RemovedLane guidance is always on and always drawn in perspective, like the BMW navigation. The lane options are gone from settings.
RemovedThe Wayglass screen in “My Vehicle” now starts with “Status”. The “Refresh” button is gone because the screen updates by itself, and the installed version is shown at the bottom.
RemovedThe “Where to show” screen is gone: where guidance appears now follows the HUD setting in iDrive. Cars with a screen instrument cluster and a HUD get a single “Show on HUD and cluster” checkbox.
Fixedguidance no longer disappears completely if “HUD” was chosen earlier on a car with an analog cluster or without a HUD.
FixedBMW G series: guidance no longer stays off after the car is switched on until Wayglass is restarted. A lost connection to the cluster is now shown on the Wayglass screen.
Android Auto 0.3.31
FixedAndroid Auto no longer gets stuck at “Connecting to Android Auto” until a head unit restart when the car’s Bluetooth forgets the Android Auto service.
FixedAndroid Auto now starts again when you leave the car and get back in right away.
FixedAndroid Auto no longer stops working when the phone reconnects at the very moment you leave the car, and it comes back faster after a short stop.
